About the Teacher:

¡Bienvenidos!

I am Mrs. Marinellie Ferrer, and I am excited to welcome you and your family to the 2026–2027 school year! It is a privilege to be your child's Spanish teacher, and I look forward to an exciting year of learning, growth, and cultural exploration.

I was born in Columbus, Georgia, and raised in Puerto Rico, where I developed a deep appreciation for the Spanish language and the rich diversity of Hispanic cultures.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Marymount College in New York and completed graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University in Puerto Rico.

For more than 22 years, I have had the privilege of teaching students at various grade levels and in several subject areas. While I have enjoyed every teaching experience, my passion is working with high school students. I believe learning a new language opens doors to new opportunities, broadens perspectives, and builds confidence that extends far beyond the classroom.

Family is at the heart of everything I do. I am the proud mother of one son and five daughters, and I am especially proud that five of my children graduated from Boulder Creek High School.

When I'm not teaching, I operate a small private animal rescue from my home. Many of the animals I care for are senior or special-needs rescues. Caring for them has reinforced values that I also encourage in my classroom—kindness, patience, responsibility, and perseverance.

Whether you are taking Spanish 1-2 or Spanish 3-4, you can expect an engaging, supportive, and interactive learning environment where students are encouraged to:

  • Speak Spanish with confidence every day.

  • Develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

  • Explore the traditions, history, and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

  • Collaborate with classmates through meaningful activities and projects.

  • Grow academically while developing an appreciation for language and cultural diversity.

My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels welcomed, respected, challenged, and supported. I believe that learning should be engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable, and I look forward to helping each student reach their full potential.

I am excited to begin this journey with you and look forward to a wonderful school year!
