About the Teacher:
Hello Jags!
My name is Mrs. Kuhl and this is my 9th year teaching for DVUSD and my 5th year here at BCHS in the TSW Program!. This will be my 25th year teaching in Special Education.
I have 19 year-old twins, Gavin and Sierra, who graduated from BCHS in May 2024. Gavin will be attending the University of Arizona and Sierra will be attending San Diego State University. I also have a step-son, daughter-in-law and 2 beautiful granddaughters who live in California.
My family and I moved to Arizona in 2016. In California, I attended Cal State Fullerton and received my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Out of my undergraduate program I worked in the juvenile justice system as a Probation Counselor with juveniles in the camp and school setting, mostly working with students with IEP's.
I then decided to pursue my teaching credentials and went to work in a non-public school for severely emotionally disturbed students. After that, I went to a public school system in Orange County and taught special education for 16 years in California. I have both Multiple Subject and Education Specialist credentials, as well as a Masters Degree in Special Education from National University.
About me personally, I love everything coffee, sports and my kids! Oh and did I mention that I love sports . . . football being my favorite! My family and I like to travel, go to the movies and hang out with friends and family.
I have a passion and desire to help all students learn and succeed. As your child's teacher, I will make it my commitment to build respectful relationships with all students and families, support and encourage successful learning, and honor and respond to every child's differences.
GO Jags!
